There is a small local pharmacy located in Puentenansa, a town located about 5 miles (8 kilometers) from Garabandal. However you should bring any prescription medications you will be needing with you.

There are no medical facilities in the village of Garabandal or in the immediate area. The nearest hospital is in the town of Torrelavega, about 30 - 40 minutes away. Therefore we must caution anyone travelling to Garabandal with an illness or other condition which may require immediate, medical attention.

The hospital in Torrelavega is however quite new, modern, and generally dispenses adequate care. There is another larger hospital located in the city of Santander, approximately one hour from Garabandal. This hospital has even more sophisticated facilities.
