Maria,
Thank you for the Rosary and scapulars you sent me
some time ago. I use them regularly and wear the scapular all the time.
I want to tell you some beautiful news that happened
3 weeks and a half ago. I was on duty for our Retreat House back in
April 25th. A layman and a priest were on retreat and were leaving
that day. I had very little conversation with the priest but that day
I decided to go and speak with him to see how he was. He’s a
very large person and can barely walk. I asked him how he was and he
said “Fine.” Then he asked me how I was and I said I still
had the bad back (2 bad lumbar) and neck pain (from an auto accident
back in 1977) plus I had neuropathy in both feet. I’ve lived
with it now for 14 years and I’ve accepted it and offer it up
for souls and conversion of sinners. He looked at me very intently
and asked, “Do you want me to pray
over you?” I said, “Yes.”
He spent 3-4 minutes in silent prayer, and when he
was finished I thanked him and went about cleaning my rooms of the
retreatants who were leaving.
It is too long to write all that has happened so I’ll
make it short. Since that day
I have not had any pain in my back, neck
and feet. Before this – for 14 years – I’ve had to
use roll-on pain killers to be able to sleep – I had cramps when
I woke up – in my calf. If I lifted 10 lbs., I suffered a lot
for a few days.
Since Apr. 25 to now I have been pain-free.
I thank God and Our Lady for what he has done for me. I am most unworthy
of such a gift and keep asking – why me? I feel I am too big
a sinner to have such a gift. I have done countless tasks since this
happened to me and I have not experienced any pain in my back, neck
or feet.
I feel since you sent me the kissed scapular and rosary
that Our Lady must have had her hand in this cure. I pray to several
saints to help me accept my condition but not just one saint.
